Born 1953, living in Sofia-1520; 18, Prosveta str., Busmantzi, Bulgaria.
After graduating English language school in Russe, Bulgaria studied at the Medical University. Graduated in 1980. In 1986 specialized Neurology, while working in Military Hospital-Russe. Main interest in clinical practice is in the field of spine problems. In 1988 moved to Military Medical Academy, Sofia and was appointed Deputy Head and later Head of Centre of Nuclear Medicine. In 1990 specialized nuclear medicine in Academic Medical Center, Amsterdam, Netherlands and in 1992 obtained specialty in Nuclear medicine. In 1994 passed internal defense of a PhD thesis “Changes in regional cerebral blood flow in cerebrovascular disease and brain trauma – SPECT study”, co-author of Neurology Diagnostics; 1995 – author of over thirty publications in the field of neurology and nuclear medicine in Bulgaria and abroad. Membership in the European Association of Nuclear Medicine and Bulgarian society of Neurology
1996 retired from the army and started private practice.
1996-2012 became shareholder and member of the managing board of Atlas Biomedica Jsc a private health-insurance company.
In 1996 -1997 as partner in Brezoeva Ltd, became exclusive distributor of 3M Healthcare products on the territory of Bulgaria.
In 1997 in partnership with Ellen Greenberg – an American PhD, professor in management, established in Sofia Dr. Greenberg Medical Center Ltd .
In 2015 I became owner of the company. The center is offering on outpatient basis medical consultancy, lab and X-ray diagnostics and physiotherapy. Dr. Greenberg medical center employs 25 people – 13 doctors, 2 IT specialists, nurses and technicians and over 30 part-time doctors work in the center. Starting in 2011 the center opened three psychology labs in the country with offices in Sliven, Blagoevgrad and Sofia, offering psychology tests, required for professional drivers, with 3 psychologists and assisting staff on board.
In 1999 together with 6 other academic people was established NGO ”Medihelp International”. NGO is re-registered in 2019 with dr. Goranov, assigned to perform as board member of the NGO. This organization has ambitions in medical travel & tourism, international accreditation of hospitals and medical centers, supporting private healthcare both in software and material supplies etc.
In 2008 dr. Goranov established a company for occupational medicine Greenpark Ltd, located in Sofia, employing 3-4 people – a doctor specialist in occupational medicine, an engineer and 1-2 assistants, still offering expertise of work safety to more than 200 small and middle size companies.
In 2015 in partnership with Florin Popa, Romanian citizen living in Bukurest, we founded Innovative Medical Concepts Ltd, a Bulgarian company, distributing disinfecting caps for intravenous catheters –DualCap of an American company HLIC.
